Future-Aligned Resilient Modern Systems for Farmers Adhering to Industry 5.0 Principles towards Sustainable Agriculture

FARMS 5.0 aims to support the transition towards sustainable, innovative, and future-ready agriculture by developing and operationalizing the Agriculture 5.0 Framework, aligned with EU priorities and global sustainability goals. The project focuses on strengthening the capacity of VET trainers and farmers to adopt adaptive, technology-enabled, and environmentally responsible farming practices, while also contributing to policy innovation at national and EU levels.

To achieve these goals, the project will implement a set of integrated activities, including the development of a Cutting-edge Agriculture 5.0 Report based on desk research and stakeholder interviews, complemented by podcasts and field insights. A future-oriented VET Training Programme will be designed, consisting of 90 modular training activities, 30 DocuNarratives, and an EQVET-aligned micro-credential eLearning platform. The programme will be delivered through blended training for 25 VET trainers, followed by localised training for 250 farmers and future farmers.

In parallel, Round Tables will be organised to co-create actionable policy recommendations that support the integration of Agriculture 5.0 into national and EU strategies. As a result, FARMS 5.0 will deliver a comprehensive knowledge base, training ecosystem, and policy roadmap that enhances farmers’ skills, promotes innovation and productivity, strengthens rural socio-economic and environmental resilience, and ensures long-term impact through strategic dissemination and a Synergy Plan for sustained collaboration.

Main Objectives:

  • Develop the Agriculture 5.0 Framework to guide sustainable agricultural transformation and align with global goals.
  • Create a future-oriented Training Program for VET trainers to equip farmers with Agriculture 5.0 knowledge.
  • Enhance farmers’ knowledge and skills for innovation and productivity.
  • Promote adaptive farming practices to foster rural socio-economic and environmental growth.
  • Advocate for policy innovation to integrate Agriculture 5.0 into national/EU Strategies.
