Human Sustainability and Psychological Wellbeing in Agriculture: Nature Based Therapies, Counteracting the Psychological Impact of climate-related influence on agricultural economies and Effective Checklists for ensuring the Farmers’ Wellbeing
The AgriMental Project addresses key Erasmus+ priorities by promoting inclusion, diversity, and flexible vocational education and training in the agricultural sector, while integrating environmental sustainability considerations. Agricultural workers, particularly in rural and remote areas, face high risks of mental health challenges due to isolation, precarious employment, and exposure to economic and climate-related pressures.
AgriMental responds with a VET-based coaching model to train educators, supervisors, and workers on mental health awareness, a digital learning platform to ensure accessibility for all, and a workplace operational checklist for early detection and prevention of stress-related disorders.
The project also incorporates sustainable nature-based therapies, digital counseling, and strategies to address the psychological impact of climate change on agricultural communities, ensuring both environmental responsibility and improved well-being.
GO1 – to promote coaching competences fo VET trainers regarding the psychological well-being in agriculture
GO2 – to increase VET learners capacity to implement actions for supporting psychological health and human sustainability in agriculture
GO3 – to establish a standard for allowing systems (authorities, enterprises) adopting contextual conditions for the promotion of human sustainability and psychological health in agriculture
