Course Description
Throughout this course, participants will learn a diverse range of artistic techniques, guided by an experienced artist. With the main focus on natural and sustainable materials, each module will unlock new dimensions of creativity while nurturing a deep sense of responsibility towards our environment.
It will give specific focus on the following:
Nature as Muse: Finding Inspiration in the Environment
Through guided exercises and explorations, participants will learn how to observe, connect with, and draw inspiration from the environment around them. From the sear to the landscape and to the smallest details in flora and fauna, participants will discover how to translate the beauty of nature onto their blank paper.
Sustainable Canvas: Choosing and Preparing Eco-Friendly Art Materials
Building on appreciation for nature, activities will focus on selecting art materials that align with sustainability principles. From organic pigments to recycled canvases, participants will explore eco-conscious options that minimise environmental impact. Practical tips for preparation and preservation of materials will also be covered.
Brushwork and Beyond: Techniques for Eco-Friendly Painting
Practising various painting techniques that not only enhance artistic skills but also promote sustainability. From watercolor washes to impasto effects using natural mediums, participants will master a range of approaches that celebrate the earth-friendly aspect of artistry.
Sculpting with a Green Thumb: Sustainable 3D Art
Hands-on activities that introduce sculpting techniques using sustainable materials. Participants will explore the versatility of eco-friendly mediums like clay, wood, and recycled elements to create three-dimensional artworks inspired by the environment.
